Interview on 16 Dec 2001 with Lena Fay Curtis a granddaughter of Ward.
"The Throgmartins lived down the hill from Hartley Cemetery in a valley.
On Decoration Day everyone would bake pies and food and go to the
cemetery and decorate the headstones. Ward raised peanuts and had an
apple and peach orchard. He bought a new car, it only had one seat. He
was one of the first to own a car in that area. He only drove it to the
grocery store and to church. The family was all Baptist and went to a
small Church near Hog Creek."
