at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was 35. Mr. Forbes
was a dealer in bottles, buying and selling them. He was a native of
Munford, Tenn. Rev. Joseph Smith conducted funeral services as Collins
Funeral Home yesterday, with Burial in Munford. He leaves his wife, Mrs.
Margaret Larkin Forbes; three children, Jean, Shirley Ann and Charles
Patrick Forbes; (note: Charles was a Cassidy) his brother, Richard

MRS. MARGARET LARKIN FORBES, 80, of Memphis, retired employee of the old
Lowenstein's Department Store, died Sunday ay Methodist Hospital North after
a long illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic
Church with burial in Calvery. Hinds-Smythe Cosmopolitan Funeral Home has charge.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Jean Griffin of Munford, Tenn., and Mrs.
Shirley Somers of Memphis; a son, Charles Cassidy of Millington; a sister,
Mrs. Katherine Barmer of Memphis, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children.

Notes for JOAN ELIZABETH SMITH:
Joan (pronounced Jo-Ann) died at 8 years of age of spinal meningitis. She
began to feel ill at school. She was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in
Memphis, TN. The next day she was taken to the Isolation Hospital where
she died in the night. The Isolation Hospital was torn down many years
ago and St. Joseph was closed in 1998. When she was brought home her
coffin was wrapped in brown paper that could not be removed due to the
